» Mech network installed in the mech «

The mech's internal network, which has been converted to a virtual server configuration, was installed in the torso frame on Sunday, 18NOV2007. This, coupled with the network switches and temporary 120v power, brings the mech's internal systems to power-on status with the flick of a switch. The "B" network, for pure mech development, has been completely de-coupled from the MCF. It now resides 100% inside the cockpit.

We may well do the AI demo, planned for debut at the winter Board of Directors' meeting, inside the mech itself.

» Mech Engine Test Video Posted «

The 01JAN2006 Shareholders meeting for Mechanized Propulsion Systems Incorporated held demonstrations of several significant progress markers, the loudest of which was the first test run of the engine for MPS's Mark Series Version 1 Prototype. With over 7 liters of engine displacement, this GM based engine platform will generate the power needed to move the Mk 1's leg drive systems, and provide pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric power to the rest of the machine. The test video can be viewed here:

» Electrical Permit Opened «

After a few supervisors were persuaded to yell at a few employees to get their job done, we received our permit for extended electrical services yesterday morning. It only took two months of arguing.

Your tax dollars at work.

» Web Site Troubles «

We're transitioning to a faster internet service provider over this next week. Our speeds should be close to 1.5 megabits once we're done, but expect hiccups in the mean time.

Thanks for tuning in...

» Sakuracon «

Seattle went very well. People were happy to see us. A few weren't sure we were for real. Danny, Kevin, Nathan, Paul and Earle all gave speeches covering various aspects of the mecha. We all hade a good time, too.

Yet again we move to another, faster server. Cooking at almost 3 billion operations per clock cycle, with a gig of RAM the new server should get the job done.

» Building Step 2 of 3 complete «

I mailed off the building papers, including our engineering requests (door locations and the expansion).  The completed blueprints and associated papers should come back in two or three weeks, and then can be resubmitted to the Mojave Building Dept. That will be step 3 of 3, then the building gets approved, and then we get it delivered and put it up.

Check the news for more details.

» Building Expansion «

This option was explored before, but it's definately happening now.

In order to do our part and help stimulate the US economy, MPS has decided to expand the MCF facility and add roughly 35% more to its width.

This means an overall expansion of about 900 square feet, about a third of which will expand the Mecha Bay. The remaining 600 square feet will be used to expand the kitchen, rec room, offices and living quarters.

» !! Building permit approval !! «

Check the news page for more details. The long and tedious battle for land and approval has come to an end. By noon tomarrow we should have everything in motion to get the MCF approved, delivered, and assembled.

I also corrected an error in the appearance of topics. This may be a billennium bug, who knows.

» Changes to the board «

I've been making changes to the message board, I hope it improves everyone's eperiance. I'm also working on a few additions. The 'send a message to a person' function seems to be operating correctly now, and I am adding in a link to a new chat room so when people are logged on to the message board at the same time, they can chat.

Now I have to go finish up my speech and the fliers for Anme Expo  =-)
